Another ugly loss !

No one ever thought that this would happen, but now its official: the Pistons are at .500 (27-27).

The 99-78 loss to the Cavs was not easy to watch. I can’t say it any better than Allen Iverson “We stunk the gym out”!

It was really frustrating to see how easy the Cavaliers dominated the Pistons from start to finish. We looked like five guys who where playing together for the first time. No help defense, no one shared the ball, no one seemed to care! The only good thing of this blowout was that Curry was playing more then 7 guys in his rotation.

A.I.

  • Delonte West was killing us from behind the 3-point line. He was back in the lineup after his injury and surprised everybody with 5 from 5 from behind the arc.
  • LeBron James had 25 points, 9 assists, 5 boards and zero turnovers in just 30 minutes.
  • 45.5% from the field and 55.6% from 3-point land for the Cavs and just 37.2% and 31.3% for the Pistons pretty much says it all.

It’s going to be hard for the Pistons to bounce back from this 6 game losing streak (the longest since 2004), if you are looking at the though road trip that they are facing:

Miami

New Orleans

Orlando

and Boston

Back at home they host Chauncey Billups and his Nuggets.

We have to look forward from this point on! Just take one game at a time and hope that our team gets back its confidence and start to win some games! It’s still a long way to go!

  1. so do you think that Allen Iverson is a out of place on this piston roster? The Ohio announcer Austin Carr was saying how it looks like he is. Every time Iverson comes off the bench, all of the sudden the tempo of the game changes. Unfortunately for the Pistons, its not in their favour.

  2. I wouldn’t say that he is out of place as much as that the whole rotation and system needs to change a bit. We aren’t the team we used to be, we don’t have the same players anymore so we should change what we do on the court accordingly.

Allen Iverson is still one of the better scorers out there and not being able to utilize someone that talented to the fullest means that Michael Curry isn’t doing his job the right way…

Of course we don’t want to end up watching A.I. dribble out the clock, than draw and kick or whatever…everything started with Hamilton coming off the bench. A.I. played for the 76ers back in the day – is there a better training for playing with guys coming off the bench? And we still go small in the 4th…why?

Changing the whole style is hard to do, but watching what we are calling Detroit Basketball right now is even worse.

  3. Yea the Pistons have definitely taken a turn for the worse, and honestly I don’t think that they should have traded chauncey in the first place. But Allen Iverson is definitely one of the greatest guards of all time, I just feel that with the people around A.I. are not compatible with his style of play. I also believe that changing head coaches for the 3rd time in 6 years is not beneficial to the team. Joe Dumars needs to start running the organization the way it needs to be run. And start adding pieces around Rodney Stuckey who will be a future All-Star if he gets in a comfortable situation. Hopefully this will take effect next season, but nothing is for sure. And since no one can predict the future, I will be praying that we get back to the Eastern Conference finals for the 7th year in a row. Lets Go Detroit!!
