Hornets vs. Mavericks Game 2 – Quick Recap

No surprises in this one (if you read the Halftime Update). CP3 did what he had to do and finished the Mavs off in style. The Mavericks played good basketball, but you can’t compete with the Hornets when they play like this. Chris Paul is just amazing. Running a NBA offense never looked so easy. He is making a name for himself this year.

Hornets

• Paul: 32 points, 17 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals – against the Mavericks! Are you kidding me? He took 16 shots all game long and went to the free throw line 14 times and only missed twice. PER anyone?
• West finished with 27 on 17 shots
• Tyson Chandler threw some dunks down that you will definitely see in the Top 10 tomorrow
• Stojakovic hit 5/7 from 3pt land and scored 22 points
• Pargo did what he always does – instant offense from the bench
• 60.8 FG% & 55.6 3pt% – when you shoot like this, I don’t care who you play against – you win

How are all the teams in the West feeling right now? Enjoying the fact that CP3 is only 22 years old and will torch you for the next 10-12 years? Great, isn’t it?

Mavericks

• Dirk finished with 27 points on 11 shots plus 12/15 FT – great effort, but not nearly enough tonight
• However he did it, but Nowitzki got a whopping -27 on his +/- and this is the worst +/- stat tonight by far – something isn’t right when he is on the court
• The Mavs finished with 47.1 FG% and 50 3PT% – you don’t get blown out often when you shoot like they did
• They won the rebound war 38-31, but their 15 turnovers killed them…you shouldn’t turn the ball over when Chris Paul is running the fast break

Great game (unless you are rooting for the Mavs). Absolutely MVP-worthy effort by Chris Paul.
